Holy Warriors

U.S. Armed Forces = God’s Army?
The Real News Network has been doing some great work providing the public with information you can’t get anywhere else. This story is about the separation of church and state and how the evangelical movement in the U.S. Military is raping that dry.Warning: this will make you angry.
I never thought I would wholesale agree with The Hitch on this one. I had numerous fantasies where in my head my wife and I sit down for dinner in a London home with his wife and him, I don’t know what the proper grammar is there, I was educated in Louisiana Public Schools so sue me, our kids playing together in the living room, other lit folks around, collegially and intelligently talking about “religion,” The Hitch arguing it’s bad through and through, me gently correcting him by holding up X-rays of the three main components of the human brain and giving him the full Freud treatment, how religion is just the symptom, not the actual problem…
I don’t think I can have this fantasy any more, cause now in my head I end up agreeing with Hitch. I wouldn’t have any other arguments to marshall. Yes, I am taking my daughter to shul this weekend, for whatever it’s worth, I don’t know what at this point, I’m pretty unsure about a lot of things, but I will say that I think he’s right.
RELIGION POISONS EVERYTHING.
